EUFED is a European non-governmental organisation set up in Strasbourg, France in 1987 to represent the views of Youth Hostels at the European political level. The federation registered as an ASBL under Belgian law in August 2004.
Based in Brussels, EUFED is a European platform liaising with the European Commission, the European Parliament, and other EU Institutions and associations to promote the youth hostelling movement and gain political and financial support for the cause as well as to assist the national youth hostel associations in the development of their work.
