Spanish Youth Hostel Association (REAJ) promotes cultural tourism

2014.11.06

The Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport offers a discount in the price of the Museum’s admission ticket for all the owners of the HI Membership Card. They will get 50% off the Museum’s admission ticket.

The Museum of Altamira is a place devoted to learning about, enjoying and experiencing the life of those who painted and inhabited the cave of Altamira. During the visit, you will know Altamira through the Neocave, the exact reproduction of the cave that shows what the cave was like during Palaeolithic times, as a habitation site and rock art sanctuary. Altamira’s art, made between 35000 and 13000 years ago, is noted by the quality of its paintings and engravings; it’s complete, multiple and diverse in themes, techniques and styles, expression of the transcendent thought of the people who created it. Due to its singularity, Altamira was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.

This collaboration with the Museum of Altamira helps REAJ to keep on promoting Spanish hostels close to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Spanish Youth Hostel Association (REAJ) is composed of 265 hostels, 100 of them located near the 44 Spanish World Heritage Sites, which make hostels a great option to enjoy cultural tourism with high quality hostels at affordable prices.
